I am a huge fan of collaborations, but if they go global, I am tiptoeing through the classroom with excitement! It's not really that hard to pull off. Find someone at a partner institution (a few emails will do; e.g., Emily Riche at Humber knows literally everyone!). Connect with that person, exchange the assignment you have in mind, see what they need for their similar course (they can adjust it to their needs) and decide on the collaboration mode. In our case, we had a 13-hour time difference, which meant we could collaborate via student emails, but not with live presentations. Thus, we resorted to YouTube videos, which they clearly enjoyed creating and could add to their portfolios. Also, we got participation certificates confirming international learning collaborations.
