At the end of September 2015, I had organized an excursion to Johnston's Cranberry Marsh and Muskoka Lakes Winery for faculty, staff and their families of HRT. I felt like a day away from the office would be a nice bonding experience, and I would not be a tourism professional if I would leave an opportunity such as this untouched. It was so nice to meet significant others, kids, friends, and to not talk shop for a day. One thing that had not cooperated as well was the cranberries! While the day of the excursion was super sunny and dry, it had not been hot and rainy enough that summer for the cranberries to be red and ripe to give off that glow that one sees in the respective Muskoka advertising brochures, but that is the problem when you need to book a month ahead and get everyone organized! C'est la vie!
Fun Fact: The owner of Johnston's Cranberry Marsh & Muskoka Winery, Wendy Hogarth, was in my and Rudi's MBA cohort at the University of Guelph. :)
